Safety comes first

Safety is first on our list, every job

CP work puts people near rectifiers, AC-influenced pipelines and active right-of-way. Nothing else matters if the crew does not go home safe, so safety comes before schedule, data and everything else.

  • Follow the client's and operator's site safety requirements on every job
  • Review hazards before work starts
  • Use caution with rectifiers and other energized equipment, and with AC voltage on pipelines
  • Document findings clearly so issues are reported rather than assumed

Capabilities

What we do

Field data, monitoring setup and documentation, handled by one provider that understands all three.

Field Surveys & Data

  • Test station checks
  • Rectifier checks
  • CP data collection
  • DCVG surveys
  • AC mitigation checks
  • Pin brazing
  • UT thickness measurements

Monitoring & Project Setup

  • RMU (remote monitoring unit) programming
  • Alarm-limit setup
  • Review and audit of project documents
  • Spreadsheets and KMZ files for the client and contractor to follow

Compliance Audits

  • Post-project audits against the Mega Rule
  • Audits against TXRC requirements
  • Audits against 49 CFR 192 and 195
  • Records checked for completeness and consistency

Audits are performed against these standards as a review of project records. They are not a certification or approval by any agency.

The -850 mV CSE criterion

A widely used criterion for steel in soil is a pipe-to-soil potential of -850 mV or more negative against a copper/copper sulfate reference electrode (CSE). Drag the slider to see how a reading maps to a condition.

Illustrative only. The bands below are simplified for explanation. Real evaluation depends on the applicable standard, the operator's procedures, IR-drop considerations, polarization and other factors. This is not a determination for any pipeline.

Project setup deliverables

One set of files for the client and the contractor

We review and audit the project documents, then build the spreadsheets and KMZ files that both sides follow during construction and at close-out. The demos below use fictional sample data only.

Sample KMZ project map. Folders for test station types, AC mitigation, DCVG and more. Demo with sample data.
Sample test station tracker. One row per station, with pass and re-test status. Demo with sample data.

How we work

A simple process

  1. 1

    Scope

Tell us what you need: field services, project setup, an audit, or a combination. We confirm the scope and send you a quote.

  2. 2

    Set up

We review the project documents and build the spreadsheets and KMZ files, and plan RMU programming and alarm limits.

  3. 3

    Field work

Surveys, checks and data collection are done and recorded in the agreed format so the data is ready to use.

  4. 4

    Audit & hand-off

Records are reviewed against the Mega Rule, TXRC and 49 CFR 192 and 195, and gaps are reported to you.

Coverage

Serving Texas and Louisiana

Tell us where your project is and what you need, and we will confirm whether we can support it. Project setup and audit deliverables are digital (spreadsheets and KMZ files), so they can be shared with your team and your contractor wherever the work is.
